I don’t often check the statistics for my blogs, but when I looked at the Mystical Geek this morning, I found out that search engines and my other blogs have been bringing readers to my posts. This is indicated by the fact that this week’s most popular content at Mystical Geek are not the ones listed in the site’s front page. Below are the most popular arranged from top to bottom, the first having 14 page views and the last at 2.

Transiturus

Cartoons and the Bible

To Seek and Save What Was Lost

Augustinian Friars in the News

The Spiritual Senses of Scriptures and the BEC

Note-Taking: High-Tech or Low-Tech

He is Seated at the Right Hand of God

The first four — Transiturus, Dolbeau, The Trinity and the Johanine Comma — were articles I wrote at least a year ago. I can understand how the article about “Transiturus” and “In Defense of the Trinity” are enjoying a lot of views: they are linked from my other articles on the Feasts of Corpus Christi and the Holy Trinity, respectively, which are found at the Bible Workshop, a section of Res Biblica that gets a lot of visitors. The article about Peter Brown on the Divjak Letters and Dolbeau Sermons has been enjoying a lot of hits for a year now since the time I posted it; That is an article that has been bookmarked. the article entitled “To Seek and Save What Was Lost” is an article I posted in November 2005 and is on Luke’s narrative about the publican Zacchaeus. The article has been quite popular and is served every time a search is made on the keyword “Zacchaeus.” Finally, the article called “The Spiritual Senses and the BEC” (March 2009) is easily accessed through the keyword “Spiritual Sense”, a term which is known in certain circles of the web. The rest of the articles above are from the front page of the Mystical Geek. These observations only show that (a) key-word searches is important for getting one’s articles read; and (b) a front page with the latest links to one’s articles also serves well.

But first the more recent articles:

The Video That Was Pulled Off YouTube . This is an expose of the way a group called “The Decency Gap” is working so that they can obtain funding for their abortion agenda.

Now, the most sought after topics…

When Was The First Bible Cell Meeting?. My answer? The “when” coincides with the breaking of the bread mentioned in Acts 2:42.

Searches have been made on this site for articles on the priesthood. The question “What are the signs of a vocation?” is one of my favorites. This has some related queries

Being A Priest. Just a few things about my new assignment.

How To Become A Priest (2005). I wrote this as a reply to an Iglesya ni Manalo member who thought he knew something about the topic.

Some students taking up the a theology course on the Sacraments came to me one morning to interview me on the vocation to the priesthood. I didn’t like the questions asked and so I wrote about it here.

Story of A Vocation. An article I wrote years ago (in 1999) for students who would come to me for an interview to fulfill a requirement in their theology class.

Transiturus. I translated some portions of the Bull Transiturus for the feast of Corpus Christi. I thought the document was a great help for preaching on the topic of the Real Presence.

Old blogs especially when they informative are like old songs. They are sought and requested. I am once more making available the blogs from the old AgustinongPinoy Blogs and Bible Workshop. These have been requested because of the pages these offer on fundamentalists.
It took me quite awhile before I could find a new webhost that can accomodate these old blogs. You see, to transfer data from one web server to another can be very tricky. In the case of the blogs above, I had to export MySQL data into text files before I can reupload them into a different web server.
I had to close down the sites that presented the above-mentioned blogs because of spammers who like to do their thing on websites that are no longer being updated but are already indexed by search engines. Their purpose is to get their own links included whenever indexed blog pages receive a hit. I think it would be alright if said links led to something wholesome. The thing is spammers don’t have a conscience. When they try to sell a link, even if it led to a poker or porn site, they will not spare a religious-themed web/blog site.
Enough of that…
Instead of giving the URL to the old blogs, I’d just publish the links to the requested blogs from Otium Sanctum or the Mystical Geek. I am reviewing my old blogs anyway, so if I find those posts that even I think is worth rereading, I’ll just indicate them through a blog. So stay tuned…
