Born under the star of Capricorn, in the year of the Metal OX, I grew up to the music of the Beatles and witnessed the Ate Guy and Ate Vi fan-feuds, Toyota-Crispa rivalry, and the Thrilla in Manila on TV. Currently I am a friar of the Order of St. Augustine with some nine years of experience in webmastering and a lot more years in being a priest and a teacher. I am at the moment located somewhere in Laguna, Philippines, animating Basic Ecclesial Communities and teaching part-time. I run quite a few websites including AgustinongPinoy, Res Biblica, The Bible Workshop, the Collectanea Informatica and the Mystical Geek.

A Joomla Installation

feature photo

I just finished working on a site threatened with extinction. The Collectanea site that I created on CollectaneaNet76 took me the whole day to finish. There were a lot of premium Joomla Templates to choose from, thanks to the work of anonymous donors. I worked on the site on and off today, after the received a notice that the site is going to be deleted if I don’t upload a site into it and have visitors (at least ten) within a period of time.

Currently, the site has two articles, one of which was taken from The Mystical Geek. As stated in my Welcome message

The present “Collectanea” will be the host to other articles, essays and notes that I have used at different times and for varied groups. They will be posted here as part of an exercise to test them for a wider circle of readers. (see more)

I do have a lot of these articles scattered in notebooks and in different websites. I am putting them together now just in case I do begin to write a book.

The present site runs on Joomla and the Hyperion theme of RocketTheme. It was difficult to decide which among the possible alternatives to pick up. In the end, simplicity and ease in customization became the determinant factors for the choice of the theme. To be honest, I am not familiar with Joomla’s templating system….

Anyhow, the site is finished. The only thing I have to put in now is something that people would want to read.
